2025 Jewelry Trend: Full Color

Colored Diamonds and Gems

Color is back! Showcasing colored diamonds and gemstones is a top jewelry trend for 2025. Sapphires, emeralds and rubies along with blue, yellow, and pink diamonds are at the forefront of this trend. Colored gemstones can allow the wearer to express themselves in an even more personalized way than traditional white diamonds might. Adding color into a piece introduces another layer of design to play with. Warm-colored gems blend beautifully with yellow gold for a beautiful rich-toned look. Cool colors mesh effortlessly with platinum or white gold, or contrast gorgeously with yellow gold. (For a great example of the latter, see our new Izzy ring!)

2025 Jewelry Trend: Created, Not Mined

Lab-Grown Diamonds and Created Gemstones

Lab grown diamonds are a trend that is here to stay. Expect to see them continue to rise in popularity, just as they have the past few years. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds, but avoid the negative impacts of diamond mining. As more and more people learn about this conscientious and lower-cost alternative to mined diamonds, you will continue to see them more and more.

Diamonds aren’t the only gems that can be created in a lab, either! There is also growing interest in created sapphires, emeralds, and alexandrites, among others. Many consumers appreciate the origins of created gemstones, and enjoy the color and style that they bring to their jewelry.

2025 Jewelry Trend: Personal Pieces with a Story

Custom Jewelry and Heirloom Remakes

Our customers are continuing to ask for custom designed pieces and personalized jewelry. In addition, we are seeing more and more heirloom remake projects. These projects start when someone has heirloom diamonds or gemstones that are loose or set in a piece that is outdated that they don’t find themselves wearing very often. We take those gems and reimagine them, incorporating them into a new piece that both honors the original jewelry and also suits the wearer and can be worn and enjoyed! These are some of the most meaningful projects that we work on because of the sentiment and deep emotions behind them. Personal and custom jewelry has a way of connecting people and stories in a tangible and lasting way, which is probably why many people are leaning into this trend!

2025 Jewelry Trend: Mixing Over Matching

Mixed Metals Trend Gains Steam

While some people sleep better when all of their accessories are made of the same color of gold, it’s long been a sign of advanced styling abilities to skillfully mix metals! This trend seems to be picking up steam heading into 2025. Mixing metals can look like stacking yellow gold with white gold rings or necklaces, or even incorporating two colors into a single piece of jewelry. For engagement rings, it can sometimes be desirable to set a white diamond in platinum prongs–both for security, and to show off the icy white color of a high-quality diamond. A yellow gold band can then bring warmth and contrast to the piece.

2025 Jewelry Trend: The Return of Pear and Marquise Gems

Pears and Marquises Make a Comeback

While ovals have had a very strong decade and rectangular cuts like emerald, radiant, and cushion have been having their day in the sun, we are predicting a renewed interest in pear shapes in 2025. The pear’s more symmetrical sister–the marquise–is also enjoying a renaissance. Customers have already started asking for these alluring shapes, and we have some new designs coming in the next year that reflect that interest, so stay tuned!

One of the biggest benefits of pears and marquises is that they look very big for their carat weight. When compared to cushions, emeralds, radiants, and asschers, these shapes carry much more of their carat weight right on top where you can see it. That makes them a great value for those going for a bigger look!
